System Replacement

When repair stops making sense, we put in the right system the right way.

When a system's past its life and repairs cost more than they save, we replace it. We size the unit to your home, walk you through the price before any equipment is ordered, and stay on the job until the new system runs to spec.

Common questions

Here's what homeowners usually ask before they call.

These are the questions we hear most often, answered in plain English. If you're still curious, the phone number works too.

How do you price repairs?

Diagnostic fee is $75 and covers basic troubleshooting up to 30 minutes. If the system needs deeper diagnostic work past that, the fee becomes $125. Refrigerant leak search is a separate $125 on top, since it takes time and equipment most calls don’t need. Parts and repairs are quoted on top of the diagnostic, in writing, before we touch a wrench.

If you decide to replace the system instead of repair it, and the repair we quoted was under $300, that diagnostic-and-small-repair amount gets credited back against the install. So you’re not paying twice to figure out the same system is on its way out.

Can you really come out today?

Yes, most days we can. Call us before noon and we can usually get someone to your house that same afternoon. Emergency calls (no heat in winter or no AC in heat-wave weather) get pushed to the front of the queue. If we can’t make it, we’ll tell you honestly and give you a realistic window. We don’t book appointments we can’t keep.

What brands do you service?

We service all the common residential brands, including Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, York, Bryant, American Standard, and Amana. If it’s a system that was sold in the Atlanta market in the last 20 years, we’ve probably worked on it.

For a full system replacement, our go-to brands are Trane and Runtru. We install those because they hold up well in Atlanta heat and parts are easy to source if anything ever needs warranty work down the line.

Do you warranty your work?

Yes, we warranty our work. Parts we install carry the manufacturer warranty, which is typically 1–10 years depending on the component. Labor on repairs is warrantied for 90 days, so if we fixed it and the same problem comes back, we come back at no charge. New system installs include a one-year labor warranty in addition to the manufacturer coverage.

Do you offer financing on new installs?

A full system replacement runs $6,000–$12,000+ depending on tonnage, brand, and ductwork. We’re in the process of bringing on a financing partner so customers can spread that out over time. Until that’s finalized, give us a call and we’ll talk through the cost on the front end so the bill doesn’t catch you off guard.

What's included in the maintenance plan?

There are two tiers. The Comfort plan is $199/year and the Premium plan is $249/year. Both include two visits a year — one spring AC check and one fall furnace check — covering a full equipment inspection, cleaning of accessible components, a refrigerant-level check on the AC, a combustion-safety check on the furnace, and a written report of anything trending toward failure. Plan members also get priority dispatch on emergency calls and a standing discount on any repair parts and labor.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the western half of the Atlanta metro out into Paulding and Polk Counties. Our primary route cities, where same-day service is the default, are Dallas, Hiram, Powder Springs, Smyrna, Austell, and Marietta. Extended coverage cities (Rockmart, Villa Rica) get a slightly longer dispatch window, but emergency no-cool and no-heat calls still get priority.

If your city isn’t on the list and you’re somewhere in the Atlanta metro, call anyway and we’ll usually still cover you. We’d rather tell you the honest dispatch window upfront than turn away a call that fits our route.

What counts as an HVAC emergency?

No cool when it’s over 90° outside, no heat when it’s under 40° outside, a gas smell at the furnace, or a system that’s tripped a breaker and won’t reset. Those are the calls we treat as front-of-the-queue. Mon–Fri we run 24/7 for that list. Sat–Sun we triage emergency-only.

For anything else (a noisy outdoor unit, a thermostat that’s acting up, a slow drain), we’ll get you on the schedule for the next available slot rather than rolling a truck at 11 p.m. Honest dispatch saves you money and saves us from being half-asleep on a job that didn’t need it.

What SEER rating should I get on a new system?

For a typical Atlanta-area home, a 15 to 16 SEER2 system is the sweet spot. It hits the federal minimum (14.3 SEER2 in the Southeast since 2023), runs efficiently in our heat, and the payback window on the price difference vs. higher-SEER units stays reasonable.

Going to 18+ SEER2 makes sense if you’re staying in the home long term, your ductwork is well sealed, and your power bill in July is hurting. If the ductwork is leaky or undersized, a high-SEER condenser won’t recover the cost, so fix the ducts first. We’ll tell you which side of that line your house is on before you spend the money.
